Hi Eric! I built one about 10 years ago. It was a flop. A different design than yours — not worth explaining what was wrong with it. I even put an ad on its slightly sloped roof. “SEE GOTHAM CITY” A couple questions: Where and how did you mount yours? Can you show it up there for us? Be sure to let us know when it gets colonized. I’m inspired to try again by your plan, so answers would be helpful for me and your other devotees! Rich. P.S. Smooches to your pooches. Dogs rule!!!

Unfortunately my bat house hangs beneath the eaves of my house in Ontario Canada and I am in rural Kansas. Mine was a Mothers Day gift from my son a few years ago. I had it hung and havent been back but for a few brief (sigh) visits since. The plan is to retire back there in 4 yrs when my husband retires here. If I think of it next time I am home I will take some pics of it though.

my thinking was to make the edges waterproof, and the screening tacked underneath the 1x2s could create a leak, even though the seam would be caulked.

how about a pict of your bat house for our viewer forum?

Heya Hi Eric and Happy Gang ! Maybe you could have glued/screwed the screening beneath the wood strips? I have a bat house back home in Oshawa. It hangs beneath the eaves on the east side of the house and sure helps with controlling the mosquitos. Anything that helps eh? Great instructional ! Thks
